The layered look is everything for Winter 2016.
More and more we are seeing guys wearing more sport coats. Guys are finally realizing that they can have a dress casual look and still be comfortable. However, there are still some guys that say they never wear blazers or sport coats because they simply have no occasions worthy of “dressing up”. If you are one of those guys, then this article is for you.

winter2015-1It’s winter and your style may consist of blue jeans, a casual collard shirt and a winter jacket. If so then you are half way to a great dress casual look. If you are in a cooler climate, Keep the casual shirt but add a V-neck sweater. It’s fashionable, and it serves the purpose of keeping you warm. If you are in a southern climate, add a light vest. You will still be cool indoors but also have an extra layer to keep you warm in the 40 degree nights. (For those of you in northern states, 40 degrees is really cold for the southern folk.) Last but not least, ditch old beat-up winter jacket and put on a dress casual blazer or sport coat with a wool topcoat for when outdoors. Because you are replacing one jacket with another, you are only adding one more layer to the outfit you already had planned.
winter2015-2Now there is one final note I would make for the 2016 layered look. At this point you are wearing a nice sport coat, v-neck sweater or vest with a casual collared shirt and dress blue jeans. If you are also wearing a pair of beat-up old tennis shoes; then you have dressed completely in vain. Nowadays, they make many dress casual shoes that will be as comfortable as your favorite pair of kicks. The difference is you will look like you care about how you look.  You will find that you can give your wardrobe a complete overhaul without much effort and without breaking the bank.
